We do not maintain a list of vacancies for our seafaring positions. It is our policy to review all applicants for these positions. If you are interested in obtaining seagoing employment with Vela, we encourage you to review our minimum requirements and benefits.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year in current rank on tankers.
  • Certifications evidencing the special qualifications necessary to sail on board tankers (management certifications for senior officers and operational certifications for junior officers).
  • National license acceptable to Liberian authorities for equivalent license.
  • No criminal history.
  • Able to pass extensive medical and physical fitness tests.
