DUBAI - Vela International Marine Ltd. received the Tanker Operator Award during the Oct. 17 Seatrade Middle East Maritime Awards dinner held at a local hotel. The award, won by Vela for the third time since 2008, was accepted by Talal Bakheet, manager of Marine Operations, on Vela’s behalf. Vela president and CEO Mohammed S. Gusaier congratulated all Vela employees for their contribution to the achievement.

The Seatrade Awards celebrate, recognize and reward exemplary levels of achievement in areas such as technical and operational innovation, commitment to safety and quality, social and environmental responsibility, business acumen and development of human resources.
